(for shopping anyways) Time to retire a two year old back pack and what a great replacement. Our second grader for obvious reasons loved the Scooby Doo design and the telescopic handle with wheels on the base of the pack. We pack lunches and with any extra items this is way better than lugging a heavy pack around. You can also use the attached straps as well if there is a need to carry like a traditional pack. The construction seems durable enough and I am curious to see how well the wheels hold up, but I am optomistic. The graphics are way better than I could have imagined and Scooby is actually furry! As far as educational value... If it helps a child enjoy going to school just a little bit more, it is well worth it. Glad my wife found this one, and with Amazon Prime, we all thought this was a great deal. It was a big hit on the first day of school! It seems to be well made (but we have only been using it a couple of weeks). We bought this for our four year old and he can manage it at school very well (but he only wheels it he does not put it on his back). It fits all his papers and "stuff" for school and he loves it. He received this for Christmas and it was as he says, "his favorite Christmas present." The only negative he had to say was that Shaggy was not on it and he was a bit disappointed about that, but got over it quickly.
